American Idol, Singapore Idol, Project Superstar, Campus Superstar, Superband, and many others – Yes, all the singing competitions to stardom, I’m sure you’ve heard of at least one of them.
I was drawn into the entire singing sensation when one of my secondary school classmate was the contestant of Campus Superstar 《校园Superstar》:
(argh… I miss my hair!)
Through Dean, I’ve met the other contestants that made me feel that singing is not just something to do when I’m bathing! To be able to sing and perform on the stage is so uber awesome!
This was me supporting Kenneth on his revival round:
And this was me and Yvonne – 2 YEARS AGO!
Fast forward 2 years later, and look where Yvonne is now!
She’s one of the talented 5 out of 1000 that got through the audition for the famed Taiwan singing competition, One Million Star aka 《超級星光大道》 …HOW COOL IS THAT?!
I WANT TO BECOME SUPERSTAR TOO!!! I WANT! I WANT! I WAAANNNNT!
. . . . . . *STOP*
REALITY CHECK: People like me with average vocal “talent” will never, ever made it there, …yes no?
NO! Definitely not! During my internship days, my company was located in Tanjong Pagar and I happened to passby this one day when I was on my way to get lunch:
Hmm… Music Story? What’s is it all about?!
Guess what?! I found out it’s a music school and Yvonne is a student inside! Akin to that, many of the singers today are from Music Story too!
Tried and tested, I’ve therefore formulated the way of becoming a superstar!
HOW TO BECOME A SUPERSTAR IN 3 EASY STEPS! Step 1:Join Music Story. Need I say more? You’ve already seen so many talents that Music Story have crafted out!
Khim from CSS1:
Vincy (Yong-er), HK singer:
Veron from PSS2:
Not forgetting Yvonne, Daren and Diya!
Step 2:Attend their Vocal Singing course.
Music story is founded by Anthony Png and yes he’s the judge with the quirky sense of humor from Project Superstar, and he’s the vocal trainer of Daren and Diya – the winners of Project Superstar 2! He was also the appointed trainer for season 1 of Campus Superstar and Superband!
AND He’s the one that will coach YOU on your singing, I’m sure you’re bound to improve in every ways under his teaching!
The best thing of it? You don’t have to be afraid if you can’t sing! No music background is required, and you can start from the very basics.
Step 3:Pick up another talent as well – Dancing! Music Story provides dance courses too!
I strongly believe that singing and dancing boosts one’s confidence and especially in this era where everything is ME, ME, ME! Apart from being a form of entertainment, music and dance is also a way of expressing oneself.
Extra tip: Start from young!
Music Story has courses for kids too! Children, as young as five, learn about proper breathing and singing techniques as well as stage presentation. Mummies and Daddies out there, do let your children discover their talent when they’re still young! They’ll be so thankful to you in years to come!
Here’s a short video what you can find at Music Story!
Wait! That’s not all yet, let’s take a look at the promotions they are having now!
Student Vocal Promotion! The course syllabus include Pitching, Rhythm, Diaphragm Usage and Projection, Stage Presence and Presentation, Song Management, Facial Expression and Vocal Range Extension – All of that in one course!
And it’s only at $118/month, usual price is $188/month!
AND AND AND, it includes 1 FREE studio recording! YOU CAN HAVE YOUR OWN CD NOW! WOOT!
Dance Courses Promotion! Learn not 1, not 2 BUT 3 genres of dance – Reggae, street jazz and hip hop! And it’s $160 for 16 lessons! That’s a 50% discount from the usual $320! WHICH MEANS, it’s only $10 PER LESSON!
Check out this video of them!
I know you’re so tempted to sign up already! Ha! So if you’ve any enquires, or you wanna sign up, you can call 62230012 or email them at mystory@musicstory.com.sg
Blogging only on weekends sucks. I can’t keep up to the heat of the blogosphere. However, I’m getting a little better at time management and I’ll try to blog more *fingers crossed*..
With regards to my previous post on Yingjie, I got comments like this:
You’re an NS boy for god’s sake, why so harsh to a secondary boy?
and this:
saying things bad abt yinjie makes ppl think that u are petty so lame in NS still so immature so harsh to a boy which is small than u in age .don’t feel shame meh.forgive & forget lah dey!
You know what? This gigantic eye rolling smiley’s for you:
So you’re trying to tell me kids are stupid?
Anyway, the reason why I mentioned I did it for him free is because, if he’d paid me to do it, the design would be considered his – as per any other design jobs.
Aiyah, since some of you think that this is a kiddy issue, then be it. I’ve got lots of things to blog about and I obviously shouldn’t waste time on things like this.
(FYI, and if you really need to know, I’m not angry anymore as I write this blog entry.)
AND I REALLY GOT LIKE A GAZILLION THINGS TO BLOG ABOUT! But time is never enough!
So anyway, there was a delay yet again in rolling out episode 2 of Blogger’s Sweets. Well, fret not! It’ll be up for all this coming thursday!
Do look out for it ya!
UPDATE: Episode 1 reached 16K views! ..and it’s going onto 17K soon! WOOT! Thanks for the luurrrrve and support!
Hello, to the people that are still reading my blog.
I will be booking into camp in 3 hours’ time, and I’ll struggling to keep up with my previous lifestyle i.e. blogging and all the other random shit that I usually do.
It’s really, really hard for me keep up with the blogosphere since I have only 48 hours to catch up with what other people did in 168 hours.
And the whole “normal human” sleeping time (sleep at 10.30, wake up at 5.30) made it even worse. I feel so tired after 10.30 that I can’t even stay up late to do my things.
In spite of that, I try my very best to keep up with the fast pace of my weekends, but only to find that it’s getting worse week by week.
Sigh. NS sucks, BIG TIME.
The strenuous training? I can take it. The strict discipline? I can take it. But I just can’t accept the fact that I’m wasting so much time in the army, and how little time that is left for me to do my own stuff.
Maybe it’s time for me to quit blogging. But no, not yet. Sweets.sg is holding me back. I’ve still got alot of episodes to roll out. But there just isn’t enough time for me to finish the editing in time.
Episode 2 is supposed to be out next thursday, but it’ll be postponed till the next next’s. I am so sorry to the people who are eagerly anticipating. I’ve let you down.
Maybe NS came at the wrong time. Yes, no? I really don’t know.
Anyway, I missed out on so many things in the blogosphere that I don’t even know where to begin with. And I only got to know that I’m shortlisted in Omy S’pore Blog Awards 6 days after the list was out.
I’m not having high hopes for this contest but if anyone of you want to help me out, click here or this button below…
…click on my face (the bottom right icon) and follow the steps accordingly. The same old drill, winners are determined by votes and voters gets to win prizes too.
…You must be wondering why I sound a wee bit down.
Apparently, one of the finalists of the “Best Blog Design” category, should NOT even qualify.
Simply because, I was the one who designed his blogskin for him.
HOW CAN YOU ENTER “BEST BLOG DESIGN” WHEN IT’S NOT EVEN DESIGNED BY YOU?
Okay, one can argue that maybe that is his blog, so it’s fine.
BUT ANG YING JIE HAS NEVER SOUGHT PERMISSION FROM ME TO USE IT TO ENTER THE CONTEST!
Is it even ethical to take part with my design in the first place?
I emailed OMY to tell them about the issue and I hope they do something about it. So anyway, I msned with Yingjie and he’s just full of crap. Acting gracious of not wanting to win and yet harping so badly on his blog for people to vote for him.
Here’s the msn chat:
The way he’s saying it, it’s as if he doesn’t care about the contest. But in fact, he actually wants to win so badly.
On his blog:
From the day he knew he was in, till I chat with him – THAT’S SIX FUCKING DAYS.
Even if I were to give him the benefit of doubt, does he really need almost a week to realize that he shouldn’t be in that category? Shouldn’t he at least have the decency to tell me (or email me if I’m not contact-able) that he’d used my design to enter the design category?
Oh, did I mention that I designed for him FOR FREE?!
Ang Ying Jie, I really regretted making that blogskin for you. I don’t know if you’ve realised, I seldom reply you on msn, that’s because the only times you talk to me is when you needed help for your blog.
Good luck to you in the contest. And no, you do not have to give me anything if you do win. I do not appreciate it.
And don’t bother talking to me. I’ve blocked and deleted you on my msn. You fucking ingrate.
I shall end my this entry abruptly ‘cos I’ve to go prepare to book in into camp. Ciao.
