I’m sure that by now, many of the fellow bloggers, and as well as non-bloggers would have heard the news about a blogger being arrested for posting racially-offensive content on his blog.

When I first saw the article few days ago, I was like, “Not again!” and a handful of bloggers question why our blogger queen never kena. If my memory doesn’t fail me, technically, she didn’t insult the “group” of people. It was what they did that disgusted her and I believe calling them molesters when they actually did, is nothing racist, right? And I think there weren’t any blatant, crude or fabricated insults.

Anyway, that’s not the main point of this entry.

So… Though the news is taunting and scary, I didn’t really care who was the man who kena. The most I did, was to self remind that I should exercise more caution when writing sensitive issues.

Fast forward to a few minutes ago, I was surfing Ping.sg when I saw this:

Hmmmm, Fragrance Prince? Sounds familiar leh, which I quickly recalled to be a friend’s friend. In Friendster’s term, a 2nd degree friend?

I’ve even bookmarked his blog before!

Sorry I’d to blur off the rest of the list, I don’t wanna let you guys know who I secretly stalk! Haha!

I was thinking, “Wah! Cannot be lah!”

But in fact, it was really THE “Fragrance Prince” that was caught. The seriousness of this issue suddenly hit me like a pointblank shotgun in the face.

After a quick read through on Simply Jean’s entry on the case, I realised how he went very wrong with his words.

Quoted from her entry, which excerpted from http://fragranceprince.blogspot.com:

(one of the paragraph in his original blog post)

Aiya….stupid MALAYS!! Even if you are a Malay and am reading this… good for you..coz this is my personal blog and i can say what i deem fit…. if u wana defend yourself…. i suggest you arm youself with education and a motor mouth to compete against me.. else dont bother… coz i will bet my life on the line that, should you challenge me in a conversation… you will lose like what a true malay would…. LIKE **** !!!GET LOST!!

Fragrance Prince, or Franco, definitely went too far on the part about freedom of speech. I wanted to post his picture here, but I thought that wouldn’t be very nice. So yeah.

In any case, I really hope he’s okay now and learnt his lesson.

Political issues – you might be able to get over with it, but Racism is a big NO NO to all Singaporean bloggers.

People, be smart. If you HAVE TO write something, analyzed every single word and sentence of your blog post if you think it’s gonna be political, racism or whatnot. Make sure one sentence is backed up by another. Gather links from forums or blogs that shares the same view as you. In a nutshell, have something to back you up before you pull the trigger.

OR EVEN BETTER. Don’t write anything like that. You want entertaining blog posts? Go Youtube and search “funny videos”, it’s way less complicated that way.

On a separate note, sorry for the lack of updates that I’d promised. Been real busy cooking something up! Anyway, I’ve got a few entries to post up but I’ve got to finish editing the pictures and videos! Stay tuned!

Why do I want to catch The Chronicles of Narnia – Prince Caspian?
.
.
.
.
.
.
because…
.
.
.
.
.
.

THE MOVIE IS STARRING ME AS PRINCE CASPIAN!

Haha!

Just kidding. If I’m acting as Prince Caspian, this show’s rating will go from 5/5 stars to NEGATIVE 10 stars!

Anyway, I wanna catch it ‘cos I’ve not watch the first narnia movie! Watching this will entice me to buy the dvd to watch! Consumerism baby!

Okay, I think I’d done enough damage, here’s your REAL Prince Caspian:

Check out their website at http://www.fighttosavenarnia.com.sg!

Not long ago, fabian, gigi, her boyfriend and i went prawning!

The signboard over there says “Prawn fishing” but I thought it was weird. So is it prawns or fish? Yes yes, I know the word ‘fish’ can be used as a verb, therefore prawn fishing is correct. Aiyah. PRAWNING SOUNDS COOLER OK.

So anyway, I went to gigi’s house while waiting for fab to come.

Baby’s the name! This cutey pie is one hyper dog man!

Then in front of camera act shy only!

Haha! Cute lah!

After fab arrived, we headed to the prawning place in jurong. We were sharing 2 rods to 4 person and Gigi & her bf both are prawning pros can! They got their first catch of the day within 5 minutes!

After like 45 mins or so, we finally got our first catch! Technically, it’s fab who caught it lah ‘cos he was holding the rod at that time!

I love my mario tee! Haha okay, random.

Gigi’s bf helped us tore off the prawn’s pincers… *ouch*

Prawning is not easy! A lot of times I felt the prawns’ tension on the hook but I pulled the rod either too fast or too slow and missed the chance! Timing people, timing!

Also, it’s also the kind of hook you use! Gigi & bf caught 5 prawns in 1 hour! BUT I’m not gonna share the secret yet! Hehe :P

Apparently, the prawns are very noisy!

Ha! Anyway, here’s the total catch within one hour!

We left after only an hour ‘cos it was late! Will return for more!

Hasta la vista, baby prawns!

PRELUDE:
If Singapore had a superhero, he would know about all the food, down to every single grain of rice! It’s a food paradise here!

MakanMan is helpful and benevolent and dislike people chomping down bad food. He calls out Katong Laksa to melt down enemy’s ice lair, Geylang’s Satay to pin down running culprits and uses Jalan Kayu’s Roti-Prata to travel in the sky. When he’s not busy fighting bad food, spend his time guiding poor souls who have no idea where to get good food in Singapore.

I’m finally done with going through the tons of pictures from the Scarlet event last friday; selected, edited, posted them onto flickr and facebook, AND as well as edited one by one for this entry. Gosh, I thought I wouldn’t get to the end of it.

(Blogging is hard work!)

With that said, let’s get to the exciting “hit new tv series”.

OH but wait, it’s not as simple as it seems.

Sometime early last week, Sabrina and I was on the phone about this invitation to a launch of a new tv series. She emphasized that I would have to dress formally for the posh event. Also, celebrities will be present as well.

You cannot imagine how excited I was! I’m quite a tv-series person. I’m those kind that’ll *erm* download and catch the episode one day after it’s being aired in US. And I’m those kind that’ll rewatch the entire season even when I’m supposed to do my schoolwork. You get the drift.

What’s more, it’s by David Nutter, the “king” of production of pilot episodes for tv series. Think Smallville, Supernatural and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

I so anticipate to an exciting new tv series to follow right before my enlistment since Heroes will only be back in September and god knows when Terminator will be back?!

The important line is, “Things aren’t always what they seem.”

So I met up with Nadia and gang before hailing for cab to the Singapore Flyer, which was where the event was held.

Even before heading there, we were already camwhoring in citylink mall. Ha, bloggers bloggers.

My formal look for the day:

The cab fare for such a short distance from raffles city to singapore flyer was $8+. Damn the extra charges.

Honestly, I wasn’t very excited about that big ferris wheel. And I thought I wouldn’t ride it until like a few years later (after the price drop to like $2 per entry).

Upon reaching there, DK was like, “Eh, you guys know the spoiler of Scarlet?”

And the cat was finally out of the bag.

Natassia Malthe from the trailer is the Scarlet, NOT! The real Scarlet is the tv beside her. In fact, it’s a whole series of tv – not tv series. Talk about creative advertising!

My initial reaction was that I felt super cheated. But the more I thought about it, the more I find the campaign’s actually very smart and creative. And I love the word play with the “tv series”.

We mingled around and enjoying the scrumptious food at the same time. And I especially like their exquisite deserts!

The beauteous lady was the emcee for the night. She looks familiar though, anyone knows who is she?

And the real identity of Scarlet is finally revealed by the Managing Director of LG, Jae Bae.

Behold the sleekest tv in the world – Scarlet, or the LG60 Series. It is the new flagship LCD TV series for 2008, which come in 32”, 37”, 42” and 47”inch models.

My photo seriously don’t do justice for the beauty. Let’s take a look at the official product photos!

To put it simply, this tv’s not only a highly functional next-generation product, it’s also the accumulation of design and style. It’s like couture for the home system. Stylo milo.

So alot of people may ask, why is there a hole in my tv?!

This may disappoint a few, but it’s somewhat for the cosmetics value. To quote their official write-up, “…a round aperture surrounded by LED lights at the bottom of the bezel served as a decorative focal point.”

Hmmm.

Moving on… was the Singapore Flyer ride!

And I did my job as a part-time paparazzi. Daphne is da supastar! :P

Pictures taken by yours truly:

And what’s a ride without CHIO BUs right?

Happy man was I. :)

And I think the nicest photo that entire night was this one taken by Willy:

Also, kudos to Xianrong for this wonderful group photo!

He actually (tak glam-ly) climbed up the railing of the cabin to take this shot! Thanks for the effort!

More iccy piccy from the event!

Oh they had this instant photo thingy at the event:

by the amazing people from http://livestudios.sg!

And I simply love this one!

And I was doing this the whole night…

…that I missed the chance to take photos with the celebs! :(

But fret not! With the power of photoshop, anything is possible!

Jessica, not only I helped you fulfill your dream of a photo with Allan Wu, I’d also thrown in other celebs as well. :P

Okay, but if you look closer, we look awkwardly sandwiched between the celebs and that we’re popping out of the sofa. Heh. Mai hiam lah okay?

I would love to do a review on this chic LG60 if they were kind enough to pass me a review set! Hint hint. :P

Anyway, the goody bag’s da bomb!

Apart from the usual press kit, it has a vcd (or is it a dvd?) that’s inclusive of the promotional trailer, the behind-the-scenes special, high res photos of the tv and logos – all packed in a dvd case that’s looking like a copy to be sold in stores! AND AND AND, also the key item in the goody bag, is a superultrauberly cool DIGITAL PHOTO FRAME!

Now, you tell me why I love blogging. Heh.

Many many many thanks to Sabrina, Gavin, Fleishman Hilliard & LG Scarlet for the invitation to this elegant and wonderful event!

P/s: Lim peh painstakingly edited each and every pic in this post, please don’t anyhow take and post them on your blog without crediting back to me HOR.
