he recent auto pagination implemented by Blogger on all its blogspot blogs, sent many bloggers wailing for help. Blog index pages became scarce with only one long post or a few short posts; Archives went “missing” as only a certain amount of posts are able to display as month view. This affected those blogspot bloggers greatly who depend on various advertorial posts to appear all at once on its landing page.

I wouldn’t say the change affected my blog greatly, but I was outraged when my archives are all screwed up! Having only changed the blog design recently, it does not seemed worth it to design a new blog just so to have the new codes to counter the problem.

Our very own blogger queen also lamented on Twitter about how it affected her blog and is considering to move to WordPress. Judging by her level of influence, I’m guessing a handful of bloggers will follow suit.

I too, was very tempted to purchase a new URL and host my own blog. But after being on blogspot for so many years, it is a tad out of my comfort zone to pull it off.

WHAT?! I have to find a way to move five years worth of archive over?
WHAT?! I have to design a whole new blog?
WHAT?! I have to rebuild the readership?

Nonetheless, having a pristine, new blog does make me feel excited and revive the dying blogging-bug in me! I’d decided to let go of all the worries and just whack.

So here you go! A briefly edited wordpress template, but a whole new space for myself.

I call this place ‘The Sojourn’ as the word ‘sojourn’ means ‘a temporary stay’ – a perfect description for now. Temporary because I’m not technically moving yet, I’m just seeking refuge from the blogspot problem now. And also because this is definitely not how my blog will look like if I were to move over! (Eh, must be as kick ass as the current design of jayleif.blogspot.com, right? Haha!)

Just so you know, my blogspot blog will still function as it is, mainly because there are still upcoming advertorials to be posted up. And… this is not an April Fools joke, okay!

Anyhow, I shall end this with a huge ass camwhore photo – just because I can!
