It’s funny how I have all the photos edited and ready to blog and I am still able to completely forget about them! Got so busy meh?! (…Erm, actually yah, twas freakin’ busy!) I was gonna blog about my birthday “celebrations” after this entry, but god knows what happened! There isn’t even like a draft post!

So anyway, here’s the recap of my 23rd birthday! I HAD A TOTAL OF FIVE SURPRISES!

#1. The first surprise came from my classmates, it was one week early and I wasn’t even suspecting anything!

#2. The second one was half a surprise! I thought I was gonna have dinner with Fab when Gabriel, Si Hui and Sarah turned up! They got me this super awesome cup that is in the shape of a Canon zoom lens!

#3. The third one was planned by Nolly! I was invited to join his friends’ CNY party and the cake came in out of nowhere! Made some new friends at the party too. :)

#4. Fourth one was at Zouk with my classmates!

And I digress:

Please don’t ever do this when you go the best club in Singapore, can? It was not even midnight when I took this photo!

#5. The fifth one was mega epic. Blindfolded to the location!

MORAL OF THE STORY: MY FRIENDS ARE SNEAKIER THAN YOURS!

Haha! But I truly wasn’t expecting so much as I’m kinda getting sick of birthday celebrations, and I’m gradually not seeing the point of celebrating. IMHO, birthday celebrations should happen only on the “milestones” of your life, like 18th, 21st, 25th (quarter life?), 30th, 40th, 50th, etc.!

I’m grinning away as I type this because Ben & Jerry’s has chosen me to be one of their ice cream ambassadors! I’ve always been a huge fan of Ben & Jerry’s and it has already been my staple comfort food, so when I was invited to join this exclusive family of “Moolets”, I had to say yes!

A year-long supply of B&J’s ice cream is awaiting for me, and I’ll be getting the latest scoops and tasting the newest flavours! As a reader of my blog, you’ll get some very exclusive B&J’s goodies in time to come! How exciting!!!

.
.
.

As for now, B&J’s CHUNKADELIC Xmas is waiting for you!

In the spirit of “Peace, Love & Ice Cream”, B&J’s is giving away limited edition of iPhone 4 bumper jackets!

In a nutshell, on the 17th of December (WHICH IS TOMORROW!), you can simply recycle any 4 of Ben & Jerry’s pint lids in exchange for your exclusive iPhone 4 jacket! They come in 4 different designs and one of which is a mystery design!

The mystery design jackets authentic, one-off SWIRLicious Ben & Jerry’s iPhone 4 jackets that even come with their own Certificate of Authenticity! And there are only 12 of these super exclusive ones – hidden all over the 12 scoop shops in Singapore!

BUT THAT’S NOT ALL!!!

If you’re one of the 12 lucky winners of the mystery SWIRLicious design, you will also bring home this awesome Ben & Jerry’s pigeon biycle!!!

I KID YOU NOT! If you get the mystery design = The bicycle is yours to keep!!!

Okay, I know this entry is getting kinda long, but stay with me cos good things come to those who wait! Haha!

This is the part where my blog readers will also get to win that awesome retro bicycle!

All you’ll have to do is to leave a comment and telling me why you deserve to win this cool ride! The other moolets are holding this contest too, and only two of us with the most number of unique comments will get to give this away! Get all your friends to help you leave a comment here too if you are really keen on bagging the bicycle!

Note: Contest ends 31 December 2010, 2359 hrs and is only open to readers residing in Singapore.

AND AND AND, I’M THROWING IN MY VERY OWN IPHONE 4 JACKET TOO!
We the moolets got our hands on the exclusive iPhone 4 jackets last week, but since I do not have an iPhone 4, I’m giving it away here! Simply include “GIVE ME THE IPHONE 4 JACKET TOO” in your comment for the bicycle contest, and I will randomly pick the winner – even if you didn’t win the bicycle!

Only thing that I don’t miss in LU is probably the food.

Staying in dorms is an experience that would be dearly missed!

My room is the one to the extreme right on the second level! The photo was taken on the day that we left, which explains the bare tree!

Here’s the view from my window when I first arrived…

And how it looked like towards the end of my stay!

Not trying to be picky, but the dorm really sucked donkey balls. It wasn’t even supposed to be one that was allocated to us! This whole “Village Court” stretch literally felt like a village! The heaters aren’t working, the parts of the buildings are really old and torn down and there isn’t a proper kitchen for us to cook! Hell, it is not even in the school’s dormitory directory! Word is that they were going to tear the few buildings down after we leave.

By the time there were any talks of us shifting, we were already too settled into the shabby place to move.

Here’re photos of my room:

Nonetheless, the place grew on us and I’m sure all of us are dying to go back! If it helps the agony, it’s snowing over there now!!! :(

The birthday surprises!

The tight get-togethers in our rooms!

Cooking in the pathetic pantry…

BEFORE feasting on our self-cooked meal…

AFTER!! :D :D :D

Not forgetting doing our laundry every now and then!

See the joining rooms between the two buildings? Well, nobody stays in the rooms but some of my classmates claimed that they hear sounds coming from the empty rooms! SPOOKY!!!

Advertorial

I think of the most warped theories all the time, and after watching Inception, it pushed me further to think of all the different kinds of reality there might be in this world, fiction or not.

And under the influence of the very funny Annoying Orange, I begin to think what would happen if potatoes were given eyes and mouths, and for that matter, lives of their own!

Well, if you would allow me to take you on a ride of wild imagination, I personally feel that each and every potato will have a “dream” of how they will eventually become on human’s table.

It is not sadistic, of cos! It will be like as though it is their ultimate calling or goal in life to be consumed by humans and be highly praised that they are delicious!

Every potato will aim to be the cream of the crop, the best, and the first class of all potatoes!

Say, some will want to be in a curry dish served in a fining dining atmosphere, others yearn to be some kind of premium French fries, and many would want to become everybody’s favorite tidbit – potato chips!

.
.
.

But I realized there isn’t really a hierarchy of potato chips, is there? Potato chips, are just potato chips, no?

Well, I was soooooo wrong!

Look at what this quirky fella has to say about his potato chips!

I’m amazed by the detailed and intricate the preparation process of Mister Potato’s chips!

If you were to ask me, I believe this is where all the potatoes would dream to be! It’s like the first class of all potato chips!

My favourite is the Hot & Spicy! What’s yours?
