After some buzz on Twitter about this new eatery called Kichn, I’d decided to check it out for myself.

Having most of its furniture items from IKEA, this place looks right out of a designer’s home. Like Everything with Fries, I like how eateries these days are adopting a clean and minimalist look. Very designer-ish, very chic.

Did I mention that this place is very good for chillax too? My only complain would be the available tables and seats – it’s a little too small in numbers! I do hope they expand in the future!

Kichn has quite an interesting concept for taking orders. Your final dish is sort of unique to you because you get to personalize what goes into it.

To put it simply, you get to pick your choice of base (pasta/rice), your main (the meat) and the sauce!

Here’s our order!

Spaghetti + Beef Patty + Japanese Curry Sauce (Featured Special)

Fusilli + Portobello Mushroom + Chilli Crab Sauce

The same goes to their drinks! You can get the blend of up to three flavours!

The food and the drink blends taste awesome! I can’t wait to go back to try more combinations!

When we were leaving, this dude from afar waved and called my name. I stood there for a moment wondering who is this familiar guy and then I realized he was Kelvin! (I think he goes by Sean now) My classmate in Lasalle two years ago!

Then he went on to say, “Oh you were here ah?” He said it so conveniently, I started to wonder if he works there or something.

And well, turns out the world couldn’t be any smaller. Kichn is opened by his parents and his dad is the cook! And the design studio, Pupilpeople, beside Kichn is his!!!

Small world!
